The text is about the protocol of a nameless person, who seems to be some kind of technician on a platform. We learn that the place seems to be an offshore-server system and is located in the middle of the pacific. During the course of three Parts NO WORD FOR, DARK SPAM and BLACK SPAM the protagonist tries to gain knowledge about the nature of his/her environment. A botnet seems to produce masses of spam that flow into the buildings maintainence network through leaks - with unforseen consequences for the infrastructure and the nattator.
The subject is confronted with an insidious growth of background-processes like temperature changes or strange day-night circles inside with patterns that seem to be totally obscure. With the phantasies of the protagonist these daemon-processes and bot systems begin to proliferate and coalesce to a perfidious paranoia. The unseen processes become a constant Menetekel and the platform begins to develop a life of its own that has huge influence on the body of the protagonist. His whole mind grows together with the paranoia inside the building and through seemingly unimportant documents he finds a person named “Cole Winninger” to be the demiurg of all events. Dream/reality are no categories for him anymore, he looses importand subject-constituting words like “I”,
“me” and experiences a spill into cascading dreams. In his collapse the protagonist clings to all available material which seems to lead him back to the ominous “Cole WInninger” character. The protagonist ties his delusion to the name and goes for a hunt on it.
With skullsplitter the like-named trilogy is coming to an end. Skullsplitter had it´s premiere at the Quartier am Hafen-Festival at Quartier am Hafen, Cologne and is at the moment on display Raum mit Licht in Vienna.
